Benefits of Yoga Therapy

Suddhi Yoga Therapy works on the physical body to make changes throughout the physiology as well as the energetic, mental and emotional bodies that return you to your natural alignment.  Suddhi Yoga Therapy works on a profound level to support healthful changes in all your body’s systems. Among the most important are:

Musculoskeletal system: as the habitual physical tensions ease your body returns to its natural alignment. Muscles lengthen reducing pressure on bones and joints. Connective tissue is protected and stabilized. Your body moves more as it is designed to move. As physical and mental tensions ease, all the systems can function more efficiently

Nervous system: Creating deep relaxation so your body can ease tensions that block the flow of energy in your body can deeply calm the nervous system with far-reaching effects. Stress-related conditions often improve including anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive problems as well as breathing difficulties and headaches.

Circulatory system: As your body relaxes circulation improves, resulting in a host of beneficial effects. These include increased energy, reduced pain, improved immune system and faster recovery from injury.

Energy or Prana System: Not as well know in the West but plays a significant role in healing in the East, the prana  or energy body is crucial to your health and well being. It is your life force and what keeps your body functioning. Any blockages or diminished capacity in the prana/energy body lead to a decrease in effectiveness in the physical body. Replenishing the prana/energy body leads to more energy, clarity and effectiveness.

Mind/Emotional System: Blockages in the mind and emotions create havoc in the physical body weakening the digestive system and adding stress to the entire being. Suddhi Yoga Therapy creates changes in the physiology that affect the mental and emotional patterns connected with the physical challenges. Dissolving those blockages leads to an increased sense of joy and happiness, less stress and better communication.

The Mind Body Connection

The mind and body are intricately connected. Your body is a storehouse for every word, thought and deed according to yoga. As your physical tensions ease the mental patterning associated with those tensions begins to let go. Your therapist understands that thoughts and emotions may arise during a session and if necessary will coach you through a process of self-understanding, to help you explore the mental/emotional patterning that may be related to your physical challenges.
